Closure of Hurricane Ike Disaster Case Management (DCM) Pilot Program
The Deep East Texas Council of Governments (DETCOG) announces the closure of the Hurricane Ike Disaster Case Management (DCM) Pilot Project performance period (case management) effective April 30, 2011. The DCM program, launched in January, 2009, provided long-term disaster case managment services to citizens affected by the devastation of Hurricane Ike. The grant-funded program provided for the development of appropriate recovery plans and referrals to service providers for housing, health issues, job training, financial counseling, transportation, utility deposits/installation fees, and other hurricane-generated needs.

The Deep East Texas Council of Governments Disaster Case Management program was established to provide long-term case management services to citizens affected by the devastation of Hurricane Ike. DETCOG provided a team of case managers in offices throughtout the seventeen county region of service to perform intake, assessment, development of long-term recover plans, referrals. and proactive advocay for clients as necessay.
