The DETCOG GIS data consists of high-quality digital geographic map files for the entire Deep East Texas Region. Data is available to the public domain through the DETCOG Internet site. Users can download quality geographical data sets in a variety of GIS formats for each county in the DETCOG region. All DETCOG digital data products are designed to be read and used by geographic information systems (GIS), image processing systems, or similar computer applications. To use any GIS data that you download from this site, you will need to obtain appropriate software from commercial or other sources if you do not already have it. "Free" GIS viewers are available from the following sites: More information about geographic information systems can be obtained from the U.S. Geological Survey or the National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis. Another excellent web site on using GIS technology can be found at www.gis.com. GIS data information is available for each county in the DETCOG region. |
